Varjupaikade MTÜ operates in seven locations across Estonia:

As local authorities' resources for dealing with stray animals are very limited, we can only offer a round-the-clock service in Tallinn. In other regions, outside working hours we respond to call-outs forwarded by the local authority or the police when a person's or an animal's health or life is at risk. If you call outside working hours, please be sure to leave a message on the answering machine.

See the animals currently awaiting a home in our shelters

Our shelters operate on a "two in one" principle that is unique anywhere in the world. We are partners of local authorities in ensuring the safety of people and animals: we catch animals and provide them with shelter for the two weeks required by law, and then we become rescue centres where, with the support of donors, we search for new homes for animals whose former owner cannot be identified.
